USSR, 26 April 1986: Chernobyl nuclear power plant occurred in a catastrophic incident and large amounts of nuclear-reflective materials contaminate large parts of Europe. The inhabitants of the neighboring town of Pripyat were evacuated until the day after the accident, learned almost nothing about the cause and have little time to pack their belongings.
